Central Park School for Children is Fundraising

About this Campaign

Check out our video here:

Central Park School for Children staff, students, families, and neighboring businesses are working in partnership with NC GreenPower and SECU to build a 5KW Solar Array on the campus of Central Park School for Children Middle School Campus in Durham, NC. Our solar array will feed energy into the grid to provide green energy for businesses and homes in downtown Durham and produce cost savings for the school.
What are we going to do with the cost savings? With the money that we save from the panels students will manage a portfolio of microloans that fund renewable energy projects around the world. We are looking forward to integrating learning about solar energy in preparation for our panels, as our panels are installed, and as we monitor and maintain their use.

Please make a tax deductible donation to help us make a positive impact on our students and our community!

To make a donation via check, please make payable to “NC GreenPower” and be sure to note our school in the “memo” section of the check. Mail to NC GreenPower, Attn: Jenna DeRosse, 909 Capability Drive Suite 2100, Raleigh, NC 27606.

About NC GreenPower:
With the mission of improving the quality of the environment in North Carolina, the nonprofit NC GreenPower was founded in 2003 as a statewide program. NC GreenPower helps to connect consumers with renewable energy and carbon offset providers to create positive environmental and economic impacts for our state. All projects supported by the program are located in North Carolina. In 2015, NC GreenPower launched a new pilot to support solar PV installations at K-12 schools. We need your help to continue our efforts to improve our home state and lay the groundwork for a cleaner, brighter future. Contributions to NC GreenPower are tax-deductible.
